Lower School

Welcome to Lower School

Learning Begins with Curiosity

In Brandon Academy’s Lower School, students learn by doing. They ask questions, explore new ideas, work with classmates, and take an active role in their learning.

From Pre-K3 through Grade 5, we create classrooms where curiosity is encouraged, relationships matter, and students build the confidence and academic foundation they need for what comes next.

Explore the Lower School Journey

Early Childhood

PreK 3 and Junior Kindergarten

Young students learn through play, exploration, conversation, and hands-on experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and early academic skills.

Primary

Kindergarten through Grade 2

Kindergarten through Grade 2 builds strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, communication, and independent learning.

Intermediate

Grades 3–5

Grades 3–5 build on strong academic foundations while giving students greater opportunities to collaborate, communicate, solve problems, and take ownership of their learning.
Learning by Doing

Active Minds. Meaningful Experiences.

Lower School students are encouraged to explore, ask questions, try ideas, and discover new ways to understand the world around them.

Our classrooms are active places. Students work together, discuss ideas, create, practice, present, and participate rather than simply sitting quietly and receiving information.

Student Ownership

Choices That Encourage Growth

At Brandon Academy, even our youngest students are encouraged to make choices and take an active role in their learning.

Giving students opportunities to participate, contribute ideas, solve problems, and make age-appropriate decisions helps them develop confidence, independence, and responsibility.
