PreK 3 & Junior Kindergarten

Early Childhood at Brandon Academy

Learning Through Purposeful Play

In Brandon Academy’s Pre-K3 and Junior Kindergarten classrooms, young children learn by doing. They explore, create, ask questions, move, play, and discover new ideas through hands-on experiences designed for their stage of development.

Weekly themes connect early literacy, mathematics, science, language, social development, and the world around them. Learning happens as a whole class, in small groups, and through individual attention from our teachers.

A Day Filled with Discovery

Early Literacy

Children explore letters, sounds, sight words, stories, and conversation while building the listening and communication skills that support early reading.

Math Readiness

Early mathematics comes to life through counting, patterns, shapes, comparisons, sorting, measurement, and hands-on problem solving.

Science and Exploration

Children investigate the world around them through observation, prediction, questions, simple experiments, and plenty of opportunities to discover.

Social Development

Children practice sharing, cooperation, self-control, communication, and problem solving while learning how to be part of a classroom community.

Creative Expression

Music, art, movement, Spanish, and physical education give children additional ways to create, communicate, move, and explore.
Theme-Based Learning

Connecting Ideas Across the Day

Weekly themes help young children make connections between what they are learning in literacy, mathematics, science, language, social development, and everyday life.

Instead of treating each subject as an isolated lesson, our teachers create experiences that encourage children to explore ideas from different angles through conversation, play, projects, and hands-on activities.

Special Classes

Music, Art, Spanish and Physical Education

Pre-K3 and Junior Kindergarten students participate in weekly experiences with specialist teachers in music, art, Spanish, and physical education.
